    Hello,

Recently a florist was attempting to install their vendor's included copy of Endpoint.  The problem is the vendor has not updated the software in a Greek age and therefore the FTP is offering 12.1MP1, something well before Windows 10 let alone AE.  The goal is to install EndPoint with a newer install, as that one will not complete, and employ the license included from the vendor's dated EndPoint.  Can anyone assist in this process?

    Thank you in advance.

    Ryan

SEP 12.1.6 MP1 or 12.1.6 MP1a supports Windows 10. For the Anniversary update you need to be on 12.1.6 MP5 (basic support) or SEP 14 for full support:

Endpoint Protection support for Windows 10

Endpoint Protection support for Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Windows Server 2016

If you have your serial number, go here:

    https://symantec.flexnetoperations.com

This is the portal for the latest download of either 12.1 or 14, depending on what your license allows.

Is there some way I can extract the serial number from the installation files?  Alternately I can install it on another machine and locate it in the installation.  Your expertise is appreciated.

The serial number is not embedded in the install. It's generated by support. If you don't have it, you'll need to call them. Once they verify you're a customer, they can provide another one.

Can it be created by working with an installation or will they require access to the license owner, the florist supplier?

All the serial number does is give you access to product downloads. It's not tied to the install in any way.

Once you call, they would ask for a customer or support number to verify you're a customer. Whether you have it or the florist, it shouldn't matter.

Thank you for the assistance.  This combined with an unrelated conversation to support wherein this was touched upon has lead me in the correct direction (no options).  I do appreciate it.
