    Hello,

me and some of my colleagues are using symantec encryption desktop.
    But there is a problem:
If I send a colleague (pgp user) an email (and I dont click the sign or/and encrypt button in Outlook!) he is not able to read it on machines or mobile devices where encryption desktop is not installed. Only on the device where encryption desktop is installed.
Why? I dont want it to be encrypted only if I click sign/encrypt... but I didnt!

The weird thing is if i dont click sign or/and encrypt "non pgp users" can read these emails!

    What I want:

If i dont click "Sign" or/and "Encrypt" in Outlook every person (pgp user and non pgp user) should be able to read the email on every machine or device!

If i click "Sign" or/and "Encrypt" in Outlook only "pgp users" with encryption desktop installed (and with a pgp key) on theire devices should be able to read the email.

I hope you understand what i mean.
    Thank you in advance!

    Dear pgpgp,

From what you described, it sounds like you have the "Opportunistic Encryption" policy enabled within your mail proxy.

Please see the following article (with screenshots), which describes how to disable Opportunistic Encryption. This should make the E-mail encryption function as you would like it to.

Enable PGP Desktop to not Search for Keys for Every Email Message - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH156843

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require additional assistance or clarification. I'll be happy to help.

    Best Regards,

    Phil
