Endpoint Protection

My ISP recently upgraded and I am receiving the following error when I try to send email:

Task 'pop.gmail.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

They've told me that it has to do with the fact that I have Symantec Endpoint Protection on my system.  Has anyone experienced the same? Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks!  I deleted and created a new account several times in an attempt to fix the problem.  Each time I used ports 995 (POP3) and 465 (SMTP).

Is it self managed or managed client?

Enable the logging for all the NTP rules and see if you get anything in there?

I viewed the NTP Traffic Logs and found that inbound traffice is being blocked but do not have the expertise to determine what exactly.  the following is a copy of a log entry.

Do yo have anymore recommendations? 
 

 

i recieve error code 0x8004210B when trying to send emails from outlook 2007.
i receive emails perfectly. does this have anything to do with my antivirus program(Norton internet security)?
its really hindering my workflow. somebody help....
