  • 1.  Package server to use second drive

Hopefully someone can answer this one.

I'm setting up a new package/task (site server). This new server is already created and ready to go so I just need to install Altiris and push the package/task services to it, but I have a problem. There's about 100 GB free space on the c: drive, but 700GB on a second d: drive.

Is there a way to install Altiris on the D drive of just this new site server? Or install the package/task services on the c: drive and have it point to the D: of that server for all of its patch data?

I want just this site server to operate this way, but I'm not sure if its even possible.

Thanks for any help you can provide me.

Easiest way to do this is to uninstall the SMA from the Site Server's C: drive and reinstall using a manual push to the D: drive from Settings|Agents/Plugins|Symantec Management Agent|Symantec Managment Agent Install overriding the default installation path.

    Set it to d:\program files\altiris

    Hi LABiggs,

Please if you agree vote on this Connect idea: Configure the Package destination on a Site Server

Because this feature is not posible yet, you could pre-stage using these instructions:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO36037

Then uninstall the agent and reinstall it on D: as described above or using the command line:

Command line example to install on D:

    • AexNSC.exe -a -s path=D:\Program Files\Altiris /server:ALTIRISSERVERNAME

The path parameter specifies the folder where the Altiris Agent is installed.

    Regards,

That worked perfect thanks everyone. Removing and installing the agent to the new path worked great and when I pushed the package services to the server it installed to the second drive.

    Thanks again for the help.
