  • 1.  Palm Hotsync USB intermittently blocked by Endpoint

    Have you guys seen any past cases of Symantec endpoint antivirus, and corp client, intermittently inhibiting hotsync? I have one large customer experiencing these issues:

    1. Initiate a hotsync on a USB cradle.
           a. Intermittently, the hotsync on the pc end, will not spawn.
           b. Intermittently, the hotsync will spawn, but data does not move through the conduit.
           c. Intermittently, when the hotsync button is pushed on the cradle, the pc does not recognize the handheld (usb device). You push the hotsync button again, and all works as it should.

    These issues are occurring on two different client pc’s, both of which have the Symantec Endpoint installed. On pc's that do not have Symantec Endpoint installed, these issues do not occur.  I have setup a test Symantec endpoint corp system here. But have yet to see this occur at our location. If there is any past issues, you may have seen please let us know.

    If any issues with USB ..first thing to try out is remove Application and device control and reboot..
    If everything is fine then problem lies somewhere else..
    If after removing Application and device control all it working fine...then we can give exception for these devices.
