I had some undesired reboots with a patch for adobe shockwave from the event log:

Beginning a Windows Installer transaction: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Adobe\Shockwave 11\swMSM.msi. Client Process Id: 3796.

Product: swMSM. The assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.CRT,version="9.0.30729.1",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32"' for component '{6D321E57-3E99-3B87-BF23-2CDFF3361CB4}' is in use. You must restart to update the assembly.

Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: swMSM. Product Version: 12.0.0.1. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems, Inc. Installation success or error status: 0.

Windows Installer requires a system restart. Product Name: swMSM. Product Version: 12.0.0.1. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems, Inc. Type of System Restart: 1. Reason for Restart: 1.

Ending a Windows Installer transaction: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Adobe\Shockwave 11\swMSM.msi. Client Process Id: 3796.

The Windows Installer initiated a system restart to complete or continue the configuration of 'swMSM'.

    Can this be avoided?

    Cheers
