Patch Management Group

Hi all,

All of our servers do not have Internet access, but we are making exception for our Altiris SMP server to have limited internet access.  In regards to Patch Management Solution, what sites do we need to have access to successfully 1) Download PMImport.cab, 2) Download all Windows Updates, 3) Download Adobe updates etc.

Above url is defaulted to get update catalogue from Symantec. Once you had it, downloading the selected updates would be the same url or Altiris SMP would have to go out to Microsoft site, not quite sure here, Symantec engineer would be able to advise that.

To download vendor updates, you need to unblock the vendor's URL's, as the updates ae downloaded from their sites and not ours.

     Please review the URL's listed on KM: TECH166460, for it also details that the errors in the NS Log will display for failed update downloads, and that can assist with isolating the problematic URLs.

     Additionally, try using the tool attached to KM: TECH186657 in a test enviornment and see if that helps isolate the URLs.

http://silverlight.dlservice.microsoft.com/*
http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/*
 

I gues you would check with appropriate vendors for their url to download fixes/updates.
