  • 1.  Patch Management log file

    I am trying to stage packages to deploy through the Client Management Suite via the Symantec Patch Management addition. Everytime I try to "stage" or "recreate" the package the process comes back and just says "Failed". I am hoping I can find logs or turn on more verbose logging and track down what the heck is going on. This was working fine before, but after a week or 2 of using the program it has stopped working.

     

    Anyone have any ideas where I can get logs?

    Try using the logviewer - Start\Programs\Symantec\Diagnostics\Altiris Log Viewer. You can see where the physical logs are by looking at the Options -> Log Options view.

    This could be a problem with disappeared Patch vendor policy - you may check http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH164471 and linked articles for more details.

    Ugh, I knew it was easier than I was making it out to be. I have used this before for a different issue and I completely forgot about it.

    You called it before I even saw it. Viewing the log I am getting spammed with "..Vendor Policy doesn't exist for vendor[0000000...].

     

    Thanks for saving me even more research time!
