  • 1.  Patch Management - Pending Status on new computers

To start off I'm using Patch Management / Software Delivery 6.1 on Windows XP.

I have two new computers that I'm using to create a new image that are based off an older image that is patched up until about a year ago.  My problem is that under the Software Updates tab in the Agent all the patches are under pending status, even patches that the computer has.  Even after I run Windows Update to patch them completely nothing changes in the agent.

What do I need to do to get this to update correctly and quickly?  Also the "Start Software Update Cycle" Task is also missing.

Does this KB resolve the issue?

Check the logs -- is IsInstalled evaluating to False, or to True?

Where are the IsInstalled logs located?

17880 was already done on my NS.  I'm going through the other article right now.

This is only an issue on these new PCs.  PCs that have been deployed are not seeing this issue.  Could it be an agent problem?

I suppose it could be something that's changed with these.  How new are they?  A reboot is required, of course, before Pending goes away -- that's typical.  Did you try telling the agent to send a complete patch inventory (temporarily) per the article?
