Client Management Suite

In NS6, patch jobs were configured under Tasks and if you clicked on the bulletins listed after "Software Bulletin", a selector would come up showing you the list of all the bulletins included in that Task. You also had the ability to add or remove bulletins from that selector screen.

In CMS7.1, I created the patch job as a Policy. In the Software Bulletins field, it lists the first 3 bulletins and then an ellipsis. I can click on the individual bulletins but only those first 3. I don't know what the other bulletins are.  I would like to see a list of all the bulletins that are being included in this policy, and be able to add/remove bulletins like in the previous version of patch mangement. I tried going into the advanced tab but that shows every update, and what I really want is to see what's being included on a bulletin-level.

Is there any way to do this?

Hi Kristens,

I think for now this is recognized as a product limitation in 7.1 SP2.  The "fix" (or at least an acceptable workaround in my mind) would be that that ellipsis is actualy clickable and would popup a list of the Bulletins the same as you could do in 6.2.

See if you can click on the drop down button (at the right end )  I marked in the screenshot. That should tell you what's being included on a bulletin-level :

Thanks KESH for the tip. I can see the bulletin there but I still need to open each update in order to figure out which bulletins are included, which is cumbersome especially when the policy contains many updates (ie. 50). 

I hope this is being looked at as a future enhancement. This feature was really helpful in v6. I agree with KSchroeder- clicking an ellipsis to bring up the selector as in the past version would be perfect.

Sorry I didn't have better news Kristens.  You may want to create an Idea here on Connect to help gain support for implementing this in a future release (hopefully 7.5 or even a maintenance release of  7.1):

good suggestion! thanks, I just created an Idea for it. hope it gets lots of votes :)  can't believe they removed that function, it worked really well in 6.
