    Dear All,

I am trying to get Patch Windows Assessment Scan working (it was in the past). I upgraded to SMP 7.5 SP1 and now the package does not run because the AexPatchAssessment.exe is missing on the Agent and also in the following directory on tthe server:

    ..\Altiris\Patch Management\Packages\WindowsVulnerabilityScan

I have tried running the repair on the SIM, but nothing changes and the file does not get there.

I have tried removing Patch Management Solution 7.5 SP1, but that just goes back to 7.5 HF3 and then I cannot remove that.

Does anyone know how to resurrect my AexPatchAssessment.exe???

    Kindest regards,

    Dear All,

I think that I have found a workaround. I found another server with Patch installed and working and:

Copied the AexPatchAssessment.exe file into the following directory:

    ..\Altiris\Patch Management\Packages\WindowsVulnerabilityScan

And ran the Package Update Distribution Points task on the server.

The agents then got their download and all was OK.

However, what do we do if there is not another, handily-placed server available?

I think, if you will perform another PMImport to refresh some patch bulletins, then it should re-generate a new latest AexPatchAssessment.exe package, which will be delivered/downloaded by managed endpoints.

I tried running the PMImport, but received nothing.

I think that the other items in the package are generated by the PMImport process and not AexPatchAssessment.exe, unless someone else can enlighten me.
