  • 1.  PGP Desktop randomly pausing on encryption

    Hey guys,

    This is weird, one of our client that's under encryption with PGP Desktop is randomly pausing while on the encryptions process.  Anyone experience this?

    Hi d4ry1,

    The machine need to be connected to power supply and should not go to sleep mode while the encryption is in progress, please check the Power option setting for the machine.

    Hi,

    It was plugged to a power source and the sleep is disabled.

    Hi d4ry1,

    Is the encryption getting paused and starting back again or it is stopped.

    If the encryption process doesn't resume from the PGP desktop interface.Try the following steps:-

    Open the command line interface and go to :
    C:\Program Files\PGP Corporation\PGP Desktop\  (for 32 bit)
    C:\Program Files (x86)\PGP Corporation\PGP Desktop\ (for 64 bit)

    1. Check the Status of a Disk
    pgpwde --disk-status --disk 0

    2. Try to encrypt the disk manually
    pgpwde --encrypt --passphrase <passphrase> --disk 0

    Is your BIOS updated to the latest version? I've updated the BIOS on a few PCs and it actually sped up PGP encryption time. Maybe this will help
