Hello, on PGP 10.3.2, I'm unable to decrypt anything, since Symantec Encryption Desktop seems to be unable to read my private keys

In PGP Folder, My .skr and is sized 0 ko, and my .pkr 2 ko Is it normal ?

So in this keyring I have my public key, but nothing that look like a private key.

    Any tip for me ?

    Regards,

    Romuald.

    Hi Romuald,

It is a best practice to have a secure backup of the PGP folder, which holds your keys. As you used be aware Public Key is used for encrypting data, while the Private key is used to decrypt data.

For recover of the keys in a managed PGP desktop with a PGP server you can check if the keys are available on the server, or else if the Key re-construction has been configured while the time of the setup can assist you to get the keys. Below is an article for the same.

Private key is not really "lost" I presume ; As the .skr file is present (and no disk crash experienced), can the file be valid despite its size is 0 ko ? (maybe encrypted so that the size is not available) ?

Check to see if you have backups within that folder. Typically, they are automatically created. If you have the backup files, you can delete the corrupt originals, and rename the backups to replace them. I would recommend copying the entire PGP folder as a backup prior to making any changes.
