Currently running PGP Desktop.  If I change the host name on an encrypted system, or I swap a HDD and rename the system, what impact will it have on the PGP client and server?

    Thanks,

It will enrol a new client, depending on the keymode of your environment, you will either have to import the old key, or if you are in SKM itll retrieve your key from the universal server.

I have changed the hostname of a encrypted machine, the hostname changed by itself on the universal server.

    Hi,

this has no effect at all since the Machine registration is not tied to the hostname it is handled via a unique ID on the OS which is generated during installtion (All client OS use the same method).

The information will be even updated in the Advanced Screen in Bootguard (this issue got solved 10.1.x I believe)

So with the next policy sync the Universal / SEMS should update and also after the next reboot Bootguard should have the updated informaiton.
