    Hi,

I'm trying to create a BartPE image with the WDE drivers in place. It appears that it works if burned to CD using the oscdimg tool as mentioned in tech note 200751. However, if I try to take the same BartPE build and attempt to write it to USB using YUMI or UBUSB (from UBCD4Win), it triggers a BSOD with 7B exception (INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE). Has there been any way to do this successfully?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Have you tried unetbootin? That is an interesting result nonetheless. I don't think it's ever been tested in this manner. But I don't think that I see a problem with doing it this way.  It must have something to do with the way the ISO is booted. Do you have a USB thumb drive which will allow read-only mode with a toggle switch? I have seen some cases where the Recovery Images won't work on USB sticks without read-only mode enabled. I wonder if this is something similar.

It looks like Unetbootin also triggers a 7B BSOD. The same holds true with SARDU as well.

On a separate note, the password recovery system for this forum appears to have issues. A new userid appears to be necessary after signing in with a temporary password and selecting a new password.

I would try finding a USB thumb drive that has the read-only mode switch on it. That may work for you. We have had problems similar to that in using our Recovery CD images on a USB drive. It's worth a shot. But I think it's worth noting that this not a solution that QA tests and we don't have official support for it. If it's something you would really like to have. I would recommend looking for or submiting an idea on our site here:
