PGP.exe quit with exit code of 64

    Hi all,

I'm desperate for a solution for this mystery.

    Background:-

    1)Server Windows Server 2003 SP2

    2)PGP 9.9 command

    Problem:

We have a simple COM+ component that opens a dos shell to run a .bat file. And the .bat runs the pgp.exe to encrypt the files. We have been running it happily for a number of years, until recently the PGP.exe failed with exit code 64 after the server was rebooted.

What is strange is that, when we run the .bat interactively using the same identity as that set for the COM+ object, there is no problem. Don't see what the difference between the same user ID logged in interactively compare to it set in component services.

Since PGP.exe exited abruptly even with just simple pgp --version --verbose, we have no way of tracing the cause. There is no log file and no error in windows event log.

Some questions that come to mind:

    1) What access does PGP need to run?

    2) Any other dependent files that need access, .dll etc?

    3) Does PGP need to run under a specific user profile? Any settings file stored in user folder?

Appreciate if anyone can help on this.

    Thanks,

    David
