  • 1.  Possible to control how many devices a user can activate?

I'm about to start running a trial of Mobile Management and was curious about how to control the number of devices activated per user.

Example: If a user has an iPhone and and iPad, is it possible to specify that they are only permitted one device activation?

If I get 300 licenses, I would like to ensure that means 300 users get to activate a device... not 150 users activating 2 devices each.

Assuming AD is used to authenticate when the devices are enrolled, you could identify devices by user, and identify users with more than one device - To automate removal of the device, the underlying workflow capability of the platform could be used to automatically either remove the mdm and reset the agent on the second device, or to email the user and point them to a workflow generated page where they can choose which device to keep and which to reset the agent on.

That was the general idea I had with this process, to automate actions such as controlling how many devices a particular user could have.  Every scenario is a little different and so this was just an example to be further modified to fit particular use cases.
