Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition

Hello there,

I'm looking for privacy information on the SEP SBE Cloud product.
If anyone is able to comment or answer the below queries, it would be much appreciated.

On the Symantec Privacy page (https://www.symantec.com/privacy) > 'Enterprise Product Transparency Notices' tab -
I see datasheets for the following two products;

- Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEP Cloud)
- Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (SEP SBE)

Which of the above do you think applies to SEP SBE Cloud?

I’m just wondering in terms of our data (eg. For us that involves patient medical records) – where the Cloud/Management component of SEP SBE starts and ends.
I imagine that all files are scanned locally on the device, and that the only time Symantec cloud servers would process our data would be when they’re submitted for Threat Analysis?

I did ask my account manager but I imagine they're just too stretched to be able to answer.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm using the right product name with 'SEP SBE Cloud',
Maybe it's 'Symantec.Cloud SEP SBE' - or just 'SEP SBE', as I think the On-Prem SBE no longer exists?

SEP SBE (on-prem) is EOL.

SEP SBE cloud is still available:

SEP.cloud is probably the version to go to though as the feature set is much more rich.

If you know of a newer comparison chart/table, that would be great.

In terms of the privacy queries I had,
I think the Privacy Datasheet for SEP Cloud will probably apply to SEP SBE Cloud as well.

I guess it can't hurt for me to try e-mailing privacyteam@symantec.com and see if they respond..

I did e-mail Symantec's Privacy Team -

They said the correct Privacy Datasheet for the SEP SBE Cloud product is:
Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (SEP SBE)

I did also ask about how file data is managed, whether files are ever sent to the Cloud to be scanned or processed,
And they sent to ask here on the forums.

I thought that was a little odd, as the question is very strongly linked to privacy.
