  • 1.  Proactive Threat Protection OFF

    Posted Jul 23, 2009 08:05 AM
    Hi Guys,

    I have the following problem:

In a single client, the Proactive Threat Protection is OFF, but is updated.

Run cleanwipe, deleted all folders and even then, when the SEP client is reinstalled, the PTP remains OFF.

This is happening for over a month.

Any suggestions to solve this problem?

    Thanks.

    Hello BBastos,

Thanks for the info, hope the client is communicating with the SEPM, coz is see the other definitions uptodate
Have you created any exception in windows firewall for communication or the windows firewall is completely off?

If so can you let me know the status of your UPnp frame work in exceptions list..

What is your workstation brand?IF your PC is Lenovo I believe that there is a conflict between SEP and Thinkvantage software paticularly in away manager, To resolve this issue uninstall away manager on that pc and try to reinstall the SEP clients. I tried this before and it works.
    Hope its applicable to you

Don't know what the translation says, but if it says "waiting for updates", run "luall" from the command line. This fixes it most of the time.
If you get an error running luall, you need to remove, reboot and re-install liveupdate.

I checked various topics with people with the case "Waiting for updates "and no solution was applied to this case. Information translated means Wednesday, July 22, 2009.

    The PC is not Lenovo.

    Firewall is OFF.

I updated the client to version 11.0.4202.75 (old version: 11.0.4014.26). The status remained OFF. Removed only the component PTP, PTP reinstall, restart the computer and PTP is working now.

This behavior had already happened when I reinstalled the client. After a few days the PTP is OFF again.

In my case, i too have search for sulutions for that and no answer at all, whta i did is to reinstall the sep on client. I think the problem must be the corrupted sep for some reasons.
