Problem to create a new .msi Altiris Agent Installer

    Hi everybody.

I need to create a custom msi installer with some params to install the Altiris Agent in new machines through GPO, but  I'm facing a problem to generate the installer.

I'm navigating to the local as said in the article (http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO2037) and running the command line below to create the installer, but the msiexec windows never opens. The msiexec.exe is opened in process tab, but the screen never shows. Also I've tried to copy the files and run from another three computers, but all computers presents the same problem.

    Command line: msiexec /a AeXNSCInstSvc.msi NS="MY_NS_SERVER" AGENT_PARAMS="-notrayicon -nostartmenu"

    I'm running the SMP 7.6 HF7 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.

    Ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Fernando!

You already have built AeXNSAgentHTTP.exe or AeXNSAgentHTTPs.exe on Notification Server machine in \\localhost\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\NS Client Package\

Both AeXNSAgentHTTP.exe or AeXNSAgentHTTPs.exe packages have communication profile with proxy, SSL, NS URL settings as well as installation settings of SMA like show systray, etc.

You can open SMA Push install page, click on "Default Settings", change some installation settings or communication profile settings, then click "OK" and it will automatically re-generate AeXNSAgentHTTP.exe or AeXNSAgentHTTPs.exe package(s) in \\localhost\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\NS Client Package\ on Notification Server machine. So you use this installation package

    Example:

    Note:

After your custom install settings applying and re-generating SMA installation packages, don't forget to return back previous install settings and re-generate those installation packages back (If current installation settings will not be required in future)
