    Please go to run and type %temp%

    Look for a file called SAV_inst.log

    In the log file look for return value 3  and paste 6-7 lines before that

    We need all the instances for the Return value 3

    remove liveupdate from add/remove programs

    delete all liveupdate folders

    install liveupdate

    open the SAV folder, install symantec

    if it fails again;

    open temp folder

    paste the SAV_inst.log file here.

    Make sure you are installing it as ADMIN and first delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared

    C:\Program Files\Symantec

    C:\Doc n Sets\All users\app. data\symantec

    Also attach the SAV_INST.log

    or 10 lines above 1st return value 3 of the SAV_INST.log
