  • 1.  Problem with sending a task to an ESX server with NS7

    Posted Feb 24, 2010 04:44 PM
I'm attempting to send a task with NS7 to an ESX server. However it never runs and the detail in NS say "Task not started" and "Task Pending". I've verified port 80 TCP.OUT is open and we tried enabling port 1011 TCP.IN and TCP.OUT.

The aexclient.log on the ESX server as these errors:

ERRO 2010-01-26 09:36:34.954     10995    4148046736  PolicyManager > Error: UpdatePolicies: NS Returned Error: The server is currently paused and will not process any client policy requests

ERRO 2010-02-22 13:45:29.797     14261    4149085888  MQClient > Cannot connect to the open socket '/var/run/aex-nsclt.sock' (3): 2147483748, No such file or directory

I'm at a loss as to where to troubleshoot for issues. Where other logs should I look at?

    Thanks!

It appears our issue was that we accidently had our NS7 server as an NS6 client and it wouldn't deliver ANY tasks. Problem solved once the client was removed.
