  • 1.  problems with sep and vista security center

    I have installed sep11 in two pc. The desktop runs windows xp and all is ok with sep.

    The laptop runs windows Vista Home Premium. After two months… after installing some Microsoft auto update, Vista Security Center unable to detect SEP.

    It turns off the Sep firewall and it turns on windows firewall.

    In virus protections writes “Symantec Endpoint Protection is on but is reporting its status to Windows Security Center in a format that is no longer supported.  Use the program's automatic updating feature, or contact the program manufacturer for an updated version”.

    The program seems to run normally (everything on sep control is on and every day it downloads virus definitions)

     

     My laptop is safe?

     

    What can I do to fix the problem?

    Hi,

    what is the Symantec EP version installed on vista machine?

    if it is not SP2, upgrade to it and inform us if the error is removed.

    You can get the latest version from FileConnect with your serial number

    fileconnect.symantec.com

    Thank you Brian81! My technical (who installed SEP in my machine) has the serial number. But he will give me in 5 days.

    My laptop is safe without update? I mean that the SEP could detect a risk these days?

    Hi

    assuming the definitions are updated, you can upgrade the machine after you receive the serial number.

    The latest version is RU6 MP2.

    did you upgrade the OS Service Pack and SEP version? did it help?
