Hello:

I tryed to update our Altiris Client Management 7.5  to versin 7.6 (using Symantec Installation Manager) but in the configation process send a critic error message. Please I need your help (I attach capture screen with error).

This error have the next message: A critical error ocurred: Failed in SetServiceCredential setting 'AeXSvc' servive to use (Domain\Server). ---> Failed in SetServiceCredential 'AeXSvc' service to use (Domain\Server). ---> Failed to OpenService. Error=80070424. Configuration failed while attemping: Configuration services...

I tryed to restart the server and restart the uppdate but continue the error..

Hi,

Please check AeXSvc ("Altiris Service") is in running state after the computer restart. I suppose it is configured to run under jaframx\Altiris user - may you restart such service manually without any issues? It looks like jaframx\Altiris has problems connecting to the service by some reason (expired password, problems with domain controller access?).

Might be good to check windows application, system and security logs for the errors-warnings related to that user.

Thank you very much for your help. With your answer I cand found the cause of error (Servive of Altiris).

The Altiris Service (AeXSvc) isn't listed in Service List. But I found in Internet how recreate this service form Command Promt.

"Create the service is to open a command prompt and Change Directory into the c:\windows\microsoft.NEt\framework64\v4.0.30319 folder and run installutil.exe "c:\program files\altiris\notification server\bin\aexsvc.exe".

After this Task I Ran again the SIM and the upgrade to Altiris 7.6 was sucesful.
