  • 1.  ProxySG BCWF licensing questions

    We have the serial number, but seems can't get database update...

    1) If we renew BCWF license, do we need to re-enter username/password again?

     

    2) If customer doesn't remember this username/password - can we reset?

    Dear Ins, No it will update automatically.Since it continuously communicate to Licensing server

    Dear Ins, Regarding below query, 2) If customer doesn't remember this username/password - can we reset? Ans:It is unique Password you cannot reset.If you forget password you can send email to Symantec licensing team for password. Also to get password you should provide your username to Licensing team.     Hi,

     

                  If you have procured this BCWF for a new box, it is very likely that you have a BCIS subscription instead of legacy BCWF username/password. If this is the case, your device serial number will be already tagged/entitled at our subscription server to download BlueCoat webfilter DB. All you have to do is to set the Data Source: as Intelligence Services as in the below screenshot

     

     

                 If you are indeed having a username/password, you can add it in the above page by setting the Data Source: as WebFilter. This username/password will remain same through your renewals. In case of customer losing the password, contact Symantec Customer Care or TAC to get the information retrieved for you.

    Thanks guys,

     

    Seems that somehow one of customer kept it, we actually applied a demo license earlier during renewal hiccup.....thus temporarily 'lost' the default credentials
