    Hello all. I work for an intermediate school district located in Michigan and we have a pool of laptops for Professional Development events. Event coordinators will often dictate that a room is set up differently than a classic 'classroom' design, so the easiest way to accomidate them was to use portable notebooks for their training machines.

    We've been running GSS from v1.0 with my predessecor, and using some custom dos batch scripting, have a sudo-automated deployment set-up. Obviously, all the laptops need to be hard-wired into ethernet jacks before they can be ghosted, so a fully automated deployment was never high on the list of priorieties.

    With the advent of GSS v2.0, I was asked to look into using the ghost console to do this same process. I have found out why the person who previously handled this did not use the console. Any clone task, push or pull will seem to work fine up until the clone finishes. At that point, the target machine, a HP Pavilion zv5415CA, will hang.

    The ghost console client reports one last message before it stops:

    Received message #\Shutdown{ Name = Windows, VirtualPartitionSize = 5, ServerConnectionDeviceId = "{75F08B30-4CD8-473E-B720-F25B763FFCB8}", Timeout = 0 }

    The console itself reports (after a very long delay which I assume is the client timing-out):

    TLAHP09 - resfloor   00-0F-B0-47-8B-F2, 00-09-4B-B7-A5-29   To target operating system   7/25/2007 12:45:35 PM   Failed

    I have tried may different fixes, such as using MS-DOS instead of PC-DOS, updating the bios, trying different switches on ghost itself, and nothing seems to work. My researched into this problem fails to turn up anyone else having the same problem. So I asking you all, who have delt with GSS yourselves, for help.

    Thank you for your time,
    William Turner
