  • 1.  Pushing to Unmanaged or unknown clients show success even when the install fails

I have a large number of Symantec Corporate clients that I have pushed installs to and the console shows success.  The client, however, doesn't install.  I sometimes have to manually unistall the old Corporate edition  before I can get the push to work.  I could live with that if I wasn't getting so many messages of success when there was no install.  Many times the hangup is the question about deleting old quarantine files.  Is there a way to make the client install to say yes to this question without having to create an MSI and answer file?

    Thanks

    Hi,

the deployment tool gives as "success", the completion of the package transfering, not the success of the installation.
Did you already prepare your SAV 10 for the migration? Check this document: CD1\documentation\installation_guide.pdf, chapter "preparation of legacy installations for migration" and let me know if it helps.

    Regards,

Upgrading from SAV 10  to SEP I believe is a smooth process without the need to uninstall the SAV 10, however incase you've encountered unsuccessful upgrade, i think login script will do in removal of SAV before doing the push installation...
