    Hello,

I am trying to deploy  Windows 7 Image on Baremetal machine.

I have installed WAIK,PXE server,DHCP server and Win PE for X86.

Problem Is : I always get the PXE-E53 error : boot filename not received, followed all the link on the net - services are running,Server is properly installed.

Whenever I create a boot image in the PXE Configuration Utility everything goes for a toss.

    Unable to figure the problem.

note: DS ,PXE,DHCP all installed on one machine resulting in same IP address.

If anyone has come across such problem please help.URGENT

PXE-E53 could be becasue of firewall.

Check the firewall. If its on at server turn it off and check again.

Resolutions for PXE-E53 are documented in this KB:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH10532

You'll want to go through the steps outlined in the KB to resolve your issue, including troubleshooting possible firewall issues.

    Hey Nickyy

I don't know how experienced you are so i'll start with a very low practical question.
Does this work on the same subnet as your server, or do you have the same problem there?
if it does in fact work in that subnet your problem could be you haven't configured IP Helper to your PXE server.

Many network admins do not know that you need to configure IP helper for your PXE server also, so that you have configured one for DHCP and one for PXE, so when you ask them if IP helpers has been configured they answer yes it has, meaning they have configured it for DHCP, but not PXE.
Of course i know this is not the case for every admin, but it is for some, and this is just to rule out that problem :)

    Kind Regards
    Morten Leth

Nickyy, If your VM image on VMWorkstation then chek the firewall of the VMWorkstation host OS also or if SEP installed on the VMWorkstation host OS then disable it and try again.

Check for VM Image if it has "bridge" network setting in case of VMWorkstation VM client. If not then change it and try again.

Thanks for all your replies it has helped me.Icould solve the above error by setting DHCP option 60,66,67.

But now I facing another error -

I am trying to deploy Windows 7 image on Bare metal image.I have installed the deployment server-

console, pxe server and manager, dhcp server,Win-PE and WAIK on the same server as its VMware workstation.

I am facing this error passed 3 days now unable to find something of my help.As Altiris does not need anything called as WDS as in SCCM so where should I troubleshoot for such an error :

TFTP.PXE-T05 : Unknown transfer ID. PXE-E36 : error received from TFTP server.PXE-M0f : Exiting Intel PXE ROM.OS not found.

Firewall is off.DHCP Options 60,66,67 are checked. If I uncheck no boot filename error is seen.

I am in a fix pls help on this.
