    Hi folks,

    All I want to know is if I have unmanaged Endpoint client installed on my machine only with Antivirus & Antispyware features, will it download the definitions for NTP & PTP as well????

    Please do a research and let me know about it, Please response asap, Thank you

    It will only download virus definitions.

    You can verify that very easily by just launching a liveupdate session manually and looking at the files downloaded.  (a switch to interactive mode in Control Panel / Symantec Liveupdate makes it easier to see)

    When Antivirus and Anti Spyware is installed , it will Only download the  defntion fot AV and AVS and Not NTP and PTP.

    You get that information from log.liveupdate also from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate

    EXAMPLE :

    8/14/2009, 7:41:45 GMT -> LiveUpdate is about to execute a PostSession callback for product SESC Virus Definitions Win32 v11.
    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> ProductRegCom/luProductReg(PID=24480/TID=18160): Successfully created an instance of an luProductReg object!
    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> ProductRegCom/luProductReg(PID=24480/TID=18160): Path for calling process executable is C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LuCallbackProxy.exe.
    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> ProductRegCom/luProductReg(PID=24480/TID=18160): Destroyed luProductReg object.
    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> The callback proxy finished executing the callback with a result code of 0x0

    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> The PostSession callback for product SESC Virus Definitions Win32 v11 completed with a result of 0x0      

    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> Successfully released callback {855BA5F4-6588-4F09-AE61-847E59D08CB0}
    8/14/2009, 7:41:46 GMT -> LiveUpdate has called the last callback for product SESC Virus Definitions Win32 v11, so LiveUpdate is informing the callback proxy that it can exit.
