  • 1.  Question on creating an image task - Server 03

    Posted Jun 16, 2010 04:37 PM
Hello!  I have a task to create an image of a server.  The server has two logical drives c:\ and d:\.  C: is 19 gig and D: is about 150 gig.  I have Ghost 11 and I have pushed the client to the server I want to make an image of; the reason for the image is to serve as a backup, so I don't want it to run sysprep.  Essentially I want a snapshot of the server as it is today so in case it dies, I can load the ghost image(s), and be back in business.

My concern is, I have not used the console to make an image so I have some questions.
    •  To create the image I'm thinking of making two, one for each drive is this correct?
    •  When the image task kicks off, will it reboot the server
    •  My D: partion is made up of several physical disks, will this present a problem when making the image
    •  On the image task window I have Source drive, would it be 1 for C: and 2 for D:
    •  For the destination - I assume I can create two image files on my file server - any issue with doing this
I really could use some answers to these questions.  I appreciate any and all responses.

    Thanks!!
