I wanted to regenerate the Whole Disk Recovery Token on Symantec Encryption Desktop (10.4.1) as the original was mislaid. From my reading of the help, re-encrypting was the way to move forward. I therefore seelcted this from the Disk menu then clicked the Encrypt button. It asks for the passphrase, which I entered correctly, but I consistently get "Unable to encrypt: bad parameters (-12000)".
If I click OK and then enter the passphrase again, it is accepted, but no encryption kicks off.
I've shut the laptop down and restarted it - it requests and accepts the passphrase, but the GUI shows the disk unlocked; however it can't be unencrypted, as I didn’t select that option, and it would clearly take time to go through the decryption process..
I'd appreciate advice on how to resolve this.
Thanks,
Des
