hello,

I have a SBG 9.0.1 installed in my company and we receive a lot of SPAM in brazilian Portuguese. Is there any way to solve this? I open a case and was oriented to send SPAM receive to gsubmit@submit-1.brightmail.com but I can´t see any improve in brazilian portuguese SPAM caugth.

Hi,

I'd recommend taking a look at this document with some best practices for spam control in SBG: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-gate.nsf/docid/2008080612113754

In particular, what may be more beneficial than submitting the spam, is to enable the probe participation feature. This will provide Symantec with real-time visibility into localized spam attacks, and once set-up, requires no end user interaction.

You haven't really talked too much about your configuration, but if the SBG is deployed at the perimeter of the network I would look at enabling the Connection Classification functionality, Recipient Validation functionality and Directory Harvest Attack functionality if it isn't already.  You could also look at tuning your Suspected Spam threshold to see if that helps.  I'd probably also look at participating in the Symantec Probe network as well if you aren't already.  You can get further details on all of this in the SBG 9 Administration Guide.

You can also select in which language you want to recieve emails.

Administration>Policy Groups>

Select your group, Normally there is only one group by default.

Click on DEFAULT group.

Select Language tab.

And you can select languages in which you want to recieve emails.
