  • 1.  Refreshing Software Delivery Packages

    Posted Jun 25, 2012 01:51 PM

    Hello -

I have a software package in a shared location, which we are using 'Access package from an existing UNC' as our package source. I noticed in our shared directory for our Software Library (found under the 'Software Library Configuration') that the folder for this particular package is blank; I would imagine it is because we are using the 'Access package from an existing UNC' as our package source.

My question is how do we refresh the package? As an example, say we had a package and just changed the installer a little. Same version of the software, etc., etc. I would assume it is refreshed automatically on our NS server because the folder is blank under the Software Library (i.e. it is pointing to the UNC which is the new package). But how do we refresh the package on our Package Servers?

    I appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

You imported the software using a UNC path. So go to Manage\Software\Software Releases or Software Updates depending on what you imported. Search and find your software. Double-Click on it. A new window or tab opens allowing you to make changes to your software. Click on the "Packages" tab and then right-click on your package. A menu appears and you can then choose the "Update Distribution Points" option. Once the Site Servers performs a configuration request based on the interval you've chosen, the package will be updated. You can click on the "Package Server" tab of the Site Server client agent and find the package and see when the 'Package last updated.'

This should give you some idea that the package has updated.
