    Hi all,

I got a question regarding SMG spam quarantine expunger setting, if I set quarantine expunger frequency (drop down list) to Never. It that means it will not release any message in the spam quarantine folder? Because now the setting is Everyday, so our user still will receive the message even it has been quarantined at the first place, but when expunger runs on the defined time frame (12 am everday), the message will auto receive to our user. I just want to know if I set it to Never, it will not release any quarantined message.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Expurger is a sort of scheduled task to clean up your queues, can be found at status, scheduled tasks, Expungers.

If you turn it off old quarantined messages never get released nor purged and your systems harddrive (HD of CC) will run out of diskspace.

    Regards

The release you mentioned here means it will auto release to user mailbox once the scheduler reach? Or it will auto purge from the quarantined box?

The administration guide is quite clear - smg_10.6_administration_guide.pdf page 317:

"You can change the amount of time spam messages are kept before being deleted."

Besides the docu lets take a look at the settings:

"Days to store in Quarantine before deleting" (Spam, Quarantine Settings, Spam Quarantine Expunger)
