It is very odd but Brightmail gateway (9.0) does not deliver the released messages although it delivers the copy of the released messages to administrator e-mail account as "False Positive Submission". When we look at the message audit logs, it is stated that the message is released. Also we see the released messages logs in the Quarantine logs.  What could be the reason behind the loss of these released messages?

    Thanks.

What do you have for Administrator -> Control Center -> SMTP ? You might need to manually specify a host to send the messages to.

A host is manually specified. We have the mail server IP settings defined in the control center SMTP settings.

Then it was delivered. You should look at the transaction logs on your mail server. It may be possible that your mail server flagged it as spam or put it into some junk folder.

As you say, some of the released mails are delivered. However, mostly, when the spam messages are released, messages are not delivered. Also I do not see any evidence in mail server transaction logs that mails are reaching to mail server. Is it possible that Brightmail will not deliver some of the released messages although in the logs it is stated that they are released. What might be the reason that although false positive submission message which also includes the original message in itself is delivered to admin mailbox (can pass through the mail server), but there is no evidence that the original released messages comes to mail server?

When you release a message from the Brightmail it delivers it immediately using a script, it does not place it in any queues to be delivered later. If it can't deliver the message it will tell you right there on the screen. If it said it was released then the mail server we are set to send it to accepted the message.
