Hello Everyone,

Can we remotely specify the share path of file present the Local Lan accessible to DLP server to index the file using EDM technique.

The same feature we have in the IDM for remote SMB share.

As the customer aren’t ready to share the data, can we map the file using their share path to index the excel file and later we can schedule the same.

Any response would be appreciated.

Unfortunately this is not possible, the easiest way to do this is to create a Scheduled Task Script, that will copy the file from the remote location to the Default Directory and then schedule the EDM process to happen right after that.

Example:

Scheduled Task or CRON job will copy file from remote location to D:\symantecDLP\Protect\index - This is run at 12:45am

Have the EDM schedule the process to happen at 1:00am

The excel sheets are dynamic in nature therefore the sample excel sheets wont justify the purpose. 

As the data is so critical that is not allowed to share via company legal way to us as well. so we require to enter into their share path just to access the data and fingerprint the document. 

later we can schedule the same for new updates.

request you to help me out in this.
