  • 1.  Removable Storage - Easier way to encrypt all files?

We have a user on Removable Storage v 7.0.5 that has an external USB drive with about 28GB of data on it.  He is trying to encrypt the drive so he can send the drive to another engineer at a second off-site location.  The drive has the Removable Storage Access Utility installed on it so the remote engineer can access the files.

The problem we are having is that we have our policy set to "Encrypt all files written to or accessed on removable storage devices".  This works great for little flash drives, but on this external hard drive he is having to open each individual folder and sub folder so the software will see the directory as accessed and encrypt the files inside.  Is there not an easier way to do this?

    Hi Edafio,

I'm wondering if you are facing a  FAT32 versus NTFS issue.  If the drive is not formatted NTFS, back up the data, convert it to NTFS, and attempt the encryption.
