Is it possible to remove only the "Inventory Solution" of the agent in some machines?
I want to reduce the number of "Inventory Solution" licenses. Without removing the agent from the altiris of the machine.

See attached image on client machine agent

Clone default "Inventory Plug-in Uninstall" rollout policy ⇒ open cloned policy and remove default resource target ⇒ create custom resource target to include there only required computers for Inventory Agent uninstallation ⇒ enable cloned uninstall rollout policy and refresh policy on targeted computers ⇒ once Inventory Agent will be uninstalled, then disabled cloned "Inventory Agent Uninstall" rollout policy.

You can use default "update client confgiration" task and schedule it to appropriate client computers

What error code is shown on "Execution history" tab of Symantec Management Agent?

You can try to uninstall Inventory Agent manually as well. Just open "Execution History" tab, there should be shown location of .msi and then via command line on client computer run this command: msiexec.exe /x "Symantec_InventoryAgent_x64.msi" /qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress ALLUSERS=1

    Hi Rodrigo,

Can you add "/l*v C:\Windows\Temp\InvAgent.log" onto the end of the msiexec command and check to see what the error is showing within the new log file?

Feel free to upload it to the post and we'll take a look for you.

    Thanks

    Hi Sam,

    The file is attached.

I ran with the local user who is not administrator of the machine. Should the execution of this command be done with the admin user of the machine?

    code executed; msiexec.exe /x "Symantec_InventoryAgent_x64.msi" /qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress ALLUSERS=1 /l*v C:\Windows\Temp\InvAgent.log

Does Inventory Agent is still shown in list of installed plug-ins after manual msiexec cmd execution?

    1. Download "Inventory Agent" msi package from your Notification Server machine which is stored in

    • \\<Your NS Address>\NSCap\bin\Win64\X64\Inventory\Agent Package\

or (depending whether client OS is x86 or x64)

    • \\<Your NS Address>\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\Inventory\Agent Package\

and run as "Administrator" from cmd again this command line

    msiexec.exe /x "Symantec_InventoryAgent_x64.msi" /qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress ALLUSERS=1

    2. Or other "way", find "MyUninstall" tool and try to uninstall Inventory Agent on client PC.
