We are using GSS 2.0 to roll out images remotely to our classrooms. We have a standard XP image that is used in all our classrooms. We then use AI packages to install the unique software to each classroom. I have set the classrooms up as there own groups in Ghost Console and we have had success ghosting an entire classroom or several classrooms. I will be using Sysprep with the base image to make the final settings for the PCs once they are ghosted. My problem is I cannot figure out how to remotely name the PCs once they are ghosted. I understand how to join to domain but the naming has me lost. Each PC in a classroom is named using the classroom number (ex: CTC204) followed by a PC number (ex:PC01). The PCs are numerically ordered from a classroom layout so they cannot change...CTC204-PC01 will always be the same because of it's location in the classroom. Is there a way to set this up so that if I remotely ghost say CTC204-PC01 that after it ghosts it can automatically be renamed back to CTC204-PC01? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have googled and not found any answers for my situation. I understand how to rename, but just not in a specific order. Thanks!

The way that I have had the most success with is to use a Confuration step after the Clone step. I set all of the Configuations on the Console enteries, with computer name and domain, and then on the Confuration Tab of the task, just use Default.  Default will apply the settings from the Console configuration for each macine, including Domain and Computer name, (although I haven't been able to get the task to move computers to the approrpriate AD container successfully.)

Since your names are sequential, you could also probably use a Template confuration task, but I haven't had much success with that, and prefer to set the console configurations manually and then appy them with a Default Configuartion task.
