  • 1.  Replication with ITMS 7.0

I am trying to design a replication system for two ITMS 7.0/DS 7.1 seperate NS systems.

Currently I have 1 running ITMS 7.0/DS7.1 system with site servers, 8k computers, it has some software defined, it has some DS 7.1 tasks defined, it had some Managed Software Delivery polices defined.

We are wanting to keep these two NSes seperate, but share some common, "Golden" software (and images) between the two, yet allow each to keep their own set of "local" software packages that aren't shared.

The current plan is to replicate some things from our current, running NS to the newly built NS. However, in the "Replication - Resource Types" selection, we can either select "Software Package" or not select it. Does this mean that it is all or nothing, I either replicate all of my current software packages to this new server, or send none?

If that is so, is it possible to define the software in such a way as to not replicate the file sources?

Also, if I go to the "Replication - Items", I can select a particular "sub-tree" under Jobs and Tasks and apparently select them individually. If anyone is using this, does it automatically keep your trees in sync or do you need to go back and add jobs if they are new under your tree?

    Thanks for any input.
