  • 1.  Report show what machines use what package server

is there a canned report that I just dont see or does anyone have a report they can share that shows what package server is hosting what machines? I know mine were good but now am seeing where sites are coming back to the main NS instead of using the local PS.

    Thanks!

In 'Reports' --> 'Task Server' --> 'Status' there is a report called 'Task Server Summary', where your task servers are listed with the count of clients connected to them. When you click on a line, another report opens ('Task Server Agent Status-Drilldown Target') where you see all machines connected to the selected task server. This report cannot be found in the reports directory or in the search field of the console, but it can be saved and printed.

    Hope this helps you!

Thanks for the reply... yes I see both my task servers and what is connecting where.

however im looking for my Package Servers and connectivity.

example is I have a site with a SLOOOOOW wan connection back to our main site and they have a local PS. All the machines are coming back to the main site instead of the local PS.

I have the Subnets assigned to the Site and the local PS connected to the Site

This is weirs as i have been using this since 7.1 in 2013 and all has been well. i just checked the latest site I added and it is good. NIB.

I do not know what the difference between Manually Assigned and not are (possibly if site server is on same subnet then it lists a 0 manual)

Yes, I think, a Site Server is automatically assigned to a Site when it is within a subnet you configured to be part of the Site.

So, I see you are using Package Servers that are not Task Servers as well. I never did that, all of our Site Servers are configured both Task Server and Package Server. I didn't even know this is working. Maybe someone else can halp you with this, sorry.

A client will select a package server on a per package basis, so it could use PS1 for one package and PS2 for another.

Find a client that is going back tot he NS for any package and troubleshoot that. Start with the client log wher it evaluates package servers, having checked that package is going to all relevant Package Servers.

You can use the cube 'Software Delivery Package Events' and may find the information of package events happening.

It does not show the package server name, but it does the package status task.
