  • 1.  Reporting queued error: faulting application Smc.exe

    I get this error about once a week and it causes me to have to reboot the server before anyone can access the server.  Sometime the error resurfaces immedaitely after the reboot but the second reboot always fixes the issue.  The full error is:


    Reporting queued error: faulting application Smc.exe, version 12.0.1001.84, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4455, fault address 0x0001bd0.



    That server runs terminal services to support our WYSE thin clients for our manufacturing plant.  There is no pattern to the fault error that I can find. 


    Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

    If you have version 12, I believe that is the small business version. You might have better look checking in that forum. I'll move this post to that section for you.

    Besides SEP 12, are you running any other Symantec Products on this server? The faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4455 points to Backup Exec.
    What application errors are showing in the Windows Event viewer?
