  • 1.  Retain Data Partition when distributing Image?

    Hi,

I am using DS 6.9SP4. I am able to succefully deploy the image.

What I want to know if there is a way to retain the data partition and reimage only C: (System) partition?

In our environment we have machines where users are storing their data in D: drive (secondry partition), I am looking for a way out to deploy the image only on c: drive and retain the D: drive, so it should not wipe the disk.

I am afraid of using personality capture as the data is huge and copying it over the network will be a big issue.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Vineet

In DS 7.x, you can use the File Preservation task for a Deploy Image or Restore Backup Image job to preserve particular drives (e.g. D:\), folders (e.g. C:\Backup\), or files at a path (e.g. C:\example.log).  I do not know if this exists in 6.x.
