We have a peculiar problem as said.We have SEP 11.0.5 client installed on windows Client (XP SP3).At the same time if we disable LAN, we are not facing this kind of problem. Also in the same system we are using MATLAB software which is working very slow when SEP is Enabled.

    What can be the reasons?

You can try to disable the Application and Device Control for SEP.

If this problem is still be reproduced after disable the Application and Device Control, you can try to upgrade the SEP client into RU6MP1 which is the latest version.

How to uninstall Application and Device Control
On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the list of installed programs, click Symantec Endpoint Protection.
    Click Change.
    Click Next.
    Click Modify.
    Click Next.
Under Proactive Threat Protection, click the Application and Device Control icon, and then click This feature will not be available.
    Click Next.
Click Install to apply the changes.
Click Finish once the installation is complete.
    Restart the computer.

Rather than going to each computer, can I perform the above task from SEP Manager?

Is the problem exactly with the Matlab software compatability with SEP?

Verifying with that and is it really with the compatability of Matlab software with SEP Client.

And if so when disabling the Lan card every thing is working fine.I cant really exactly know why the problem is related with LAN Disabling..Why the problem is related to LAN card?

Try to update the drivers of the LAN card and see if that helps
