  • 1.  Rollback Plan after upgrade of Symantec in client PCs

    Hi Guys,

I would like to upgrade SEPM MP4 pack in Symantec server and as well as in client PCs also.  As we had installed Symantec AV server in Hyper-V so I will take a backup of VM before upgrading so that if anything goes wrong then we will restored.  Now the question is for client what should I do if I faced prblem in client during upgradation as we have all Physical client PCs.  Is there any tool for Rollback which we can perform from SEPM server?  or any other tool which we can perfrom from Network not requrie to go client PCs and run manually.

    Please help me

The SEP client cannot be rolled back. You can either run a repair via add/remove programs or re-install.

    SymDiag can help diagnose issues:

Download SymDiag to detect Symantec product issues

In my case, I would have made a snapshot of the VM image before installing the SEPM software. Once installed, set it up. And I would have used some test PCs for testing purpose where you're happy to trash/rebuild when completed.

Once you're happy with it, you can either keep as it is, or roll back the VM image where needs and rebuild these PCs for a fresh set of PCs for fuerther testing.

This way, it would be a lot less hassle for you to deal with this.
