Endpoint Protection

hi

My server downloaded an update for antivirus updates for nav 7.5 corp edition, and windows event viewer is showing event ID #39 stating that it has detected a problem with the virus definitions on this computer and has rolled back the computer to the most recent set of valid definition files.

Any  Ideas???

They may be corrupt. Have you tried running a repair on the client?

SAV 7.5, it was actually still called norton back then, original end of life was in 2001. I would highly recommend installing either the latest version of SEP 11 or SEP 12.1 on this machine and any other machine in your environment that may still be using 7.5

On July 4, 2012, SAV 10.x and SCS 3.x reached End of Support Life (EOSL).  This includes ALL maintenance packs and patches.

We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection, which as of today is version 12.1 RU2 MP1.

There is no cost to upgrade for customers with a current maintenance contract; However you may find that additional or updated hardware is required.

Use the latest SEP version and stay protected.

"Thumbs up" to the above.  Do not entrust your company's security to a product that has been unsupported for so many years!  Today's threats are far more sophisticated than NAV 7.5 was ever designed to fight.  Please upgrade to SEP 11 or SEP 12.1 as soon as possible.

Just a reminder to anyone still using SAV: please do upgrade to SEP as soon as possible.  That product is no longer supported.  New definitions have been released for SAV 10.x long after support ended, in order to allow admins ample time to migrate.  These are just a courtesy and can be discontinued at any time.
