SAV10 occupying too much HDD space (.VDB)

I am administering about 500 workstations in my domain. They all run SAV  corporate 10. about 90% of the installs are managed. the rest were installed as unmanaged. Lately, I have noticed that the workstations that have SAV  10 installed run out of HDD space.
Found out that the SAV folder in %ALLUSERSDIRECOTRY%Application Data\ is more that 12GB on average. All this occupied by .VDB files. Why are these files still retained and how can I resolve this issue. It is causing lots of problems for my users.

Which of these files can be purged? some of them are about 18 months old.

    Thanks!!
