  • 1.  scan progress window doesn't appear

    On one pc running windows xp sp2 sep 11.5 client when I try to scan any drive the scan window doesn't appear .but when I open sep it shows that the scan is on progress. but scan window doesn't appear. everything else is fine onthe system. sep is getting updates from sepm.

    I uninstalled sep and reinstalled but the problem is still there. is there any setting to scan progress window. all my clients are using same policy but other psc are running fine.

    is the policy number on this system is same as that of others where the scan progress  window is being shown?

    This is a tricky one check this

    There are one or more system or user-based scans in the registry that have a missing or invalid status. This is usually the result of a migration from Symantec AntiVirus to Symanted Endpoint Protection. User-based scans are stored in the following location under the user's profile: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV\Custom Tasks\ System scans are in the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV\Custom Tasks\ These registry keys usually contains one or more tasks. The task ID is random, for example: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV\Custom Tasks\C9FD1449-694F-40F1-99E5-1976D4279E0D

    Try this

    Delete any custom task that does not have a corresponding entry in the SEP interface, and rescheduled if neccesary

    I checked all these registry kes and deleted but still same problem. I removed sep once again and deleted all symantec registry .rebooted the pc then again installed sep .but still the same problem.

    what should i do now ?

    Are you logging to system as a normal user?Try by login as an administrator...

    all user accounts on he system has same problem.
