Can you configure Symantec vers 10.2 (corporate edition) to scan pst files in MS Outlook?

    Thanks.

It is my understanding that the PST is a MS proprietary file, only readable by Outlook, and there isn't anything that can directly access it unless Outlook is runnning. Then SAV or SEP access it as a plugin to outlook.
So, unless Symantec corrects me, I don't think you CAN scan a PST file............ well, you could scan it, but it would be like an encrypted ZIP file with a password - SAV would not understand the contents.

From File system autoprotect option you can select Outlook scanning and that will scan PST file.

Yes, through Outlook, but you can't scan inside a PST manually......... it won't find anything.
The idea is that autoprotect will cover it while you use Outlook.
But because Outlook is the thing that "decrypts" the encoded PST file, manual scanning won't work.

After setting Oulook scanning from File System Autoprotect if I run manual scan on the drive where PST files reside, what will happen? Won't it scan PSTs?
