Endpoint Encryption

Hallo zusammen,

bei dem Versuch "Symantec Endpoint Encryption: Removable Media Encryption" (11.0.1 MP1) von meinem Windows 10 Client zu deinstallieren, erhalte ich die folgende Meldung: 

Your organization's policy does not allow Removable Media Encryption to be uninstalled

Das Paket wurde über GPO verteilt, die GPO wurde mittlerweile zurückgezogen. Der Client versucht beim Neustart des Rechners die Anwendung ebenfalls zu deinstallieren, gibt aber nach 20 Minuten (in denen der Rechner tot ist) auf und startet wie gewohnt. Eine manuelle Deinstallation ist wegen oben genanntem Problem nicht möglich. Weitere GPOs bezüglich SEE gibt es nicht. Somit habe ich keine Ahnung welche Policy er hier meint.

Somit legt SEE bei jedem Start alle betroffenen Clients an jedem Morgen für ca. 20 Minuten sinnlos lahm!

Wie kann ich die Software deinstallieren?

If SEE 11 is installed using GPO, then it is only able to uninstall using GPO.  Did you remove the GPO completely, or did you remove the software from the GPO?  If you removed the software from the GPO, did you set clients to uninstall the software?

Also, you mentioned it took a very long time to boot.  Typically this happens when the GPO for Management Agent and Drive Encryption or RME are installed in the wrong order and pushed through GPO.  There should be a separate component for each piece of the software to prevent this from happening.  then the Policy Link Order needs to be adjusted to make sure the Management Agent is on the bottom of the link order list (since GPO link order processes from the bottom up, so the last GPO applied, GPO #1, has precedence)  if installed in the wrong order, it will continually take a long time to boot until this is fixed.  After it is fixed, it may still take 1-2 additional boots for the system to get it straightened out.
